Job Description Job Description Payroll Specialist Location: West Chester, Ohio Pay Rate: $25-$31 per hour Company: Client of LHH Recruitment Solutions Overview LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist for our client in West Chester, Ohio. This role is ideal for a payroll professional with strong organizational skills, experience processing payroll across multiple states and job sites , and the ability to handle high-volume payroll cycles with accuracy. Experience with Paychex is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Payroll Processing Process weekly and biweekly payroll for employees across multiple states and locations , ensuring accuracy and compliance. Review and validate timesheets, hours worked, pay rates, deductions, taxes, bonuses, and adjustments. Maintain accurate employee payroll records, earnings, and tax information. Handle payroll discrepancies, corrections, retroactive pay, and off-cycle payments when needed. Compliance & Reporting Ensure payroll complies with all state, federal, and local regulations, including wage and hour laws. Prepare payroll reports for Accounting, HR, and leadership teams. Reconcile payroll data and assist with audits as required. System & Data Management Utilize payroll software to process payroll efficiently; Paychex experience is preferred . Maintain employee data within payroll and HR systems. Support system upgrades, testing, and troubleshooting as needed. Employee Support Serve as a resource for payroll-related questions regarding earnings, deductions, taxation, and system navigation. Provide clear and accurate communication to employees and internal departments. Qualifications 3 years of payroll processing experience required. Experience handling multi-state payroll and multiple job sites strongly preferred. Paychex experience preferred but not required. Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, wage and hour rules, and compliance standards. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication skills with a customer-focused mindset. Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
