Job Description:
SummaryThe Marketing Coordinator serves as a key member of the
City's marketing & communications team. This position is
responsible for the coordination of social media, marketing and
promotional efforts for City departments, as well as the
development of marketing plans and strategies. This position serves
as a lead on the marketing team and performs a variety of marketing
duties in support of the goals and mission of the City of Temple,
with a special emphasis on creativity, organization and time
management.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesManagement
Support
- Assists the Marketing & Digital Media Manager in the City's
marketing and advertising efforts by developing annual action plans
and social media strategiesWeb, Social and Multi-Media
- Serves as lead and main point of contact for website management
and updates while ensuring that site content is kept up to
date
- Designs social media graphics, signage, flyers and other
promotional materials to support City departments
- Manages the content development process and assists in the
development of marketing collateral consistent with the City's
overall branding efforts
- Develops monthly social media content calendar to ensure
regular posting
- Develops, coordinates, implements and reviews social media
strategies and campaigns to engage City residents
- Assists with content development & programming the City's
Government Access Channel, through video projects and
photography
- Conducts website, social media and other relevant marketing
trainings to City departments, as neededMarketing & Advertising
- Seeks out relevant and proactive stories, topics, content, etc.
to be used to promote Temple's image on social media and City
websites
- Develops, implements and reviews marketing and advertising
plans for assigned departments.
- Advises City departments of potential problems and
opportunities in public engagement and marketing
- Provides marketing counsel and support to city departments in
the promotion for special events, campaigns, services and
programs
- Oversees all marketing projects within the project management
tool to ensure deadlines are met.
- Ensures that marketing tools available are utilized effectively
to reach a diverse audienceMiscellaneous
- Participates in professional organizations and marketing
information groups to advance knowledge and network with other
industry professionals
- Stays up-to date with current industry trends and technology by
attending trainings, conferences, webinars, etc
- Serves as the lead trainer for the marketing specialist(s)
- Collaborates proactively with all departments to ensure that
all marketing and communications is relevant, intentional and
strategic
- Follows policy, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Performs other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications
- Combination of education experience equivalent to four (4)
years' experience in content creation, marketing, digital
photography, videography, website design, social media platforms or
other related fields
- Two 2 years of relevant marketing experiencePreferred
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism,
Advertising, Mass Communication or related field.
- Graphic design experience
- Demonstrated use of Adobe Creative Suite
- Municipal Government experience
- Photography & Videography experienceCertificates, Licenses,
Registrations
- Certification in Google Analytics is preferred
