CornerStone Professional Placement is seeking a Senior Estimator for a leading construction services firm in the Houston or Austin areas. In this role, you’ll spearhead the estimating process for high-profile commercial, healthcare, and higher education projects. What You’ll Actually Do as the Senior Estimator: Lead estimating efforts for complex commercial projects, including healthcare and higher education facilities. Prepare conceptual budgets and detailed cost estimates throughout all phases of design. Partner with project teams to develop GMP strategies, procurement approaches, and risk assessments. Track budgets, manage scope adjustments, and ensure consistency across estimates. Contribute to general conditions analysis and provide input into overall project requirements. What You’ll Need to Succeed as the Senior Estimator: 7–10 years of estimating experience, ideally within commercial, healthcare, and higher education sectors (structural steel experience, not residential or multi-family) Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills. Experience with CMAR delivery methods. Experience estimating complex projects ranging in scope from $10M ($20M-100M is preferred) Proven ability to manage estimates from conceptual design through GMP submission. It’s a Bonus if You’ve Used: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field (or equivalent experience). Experience estimating in the healthcare, higher education, or municipality markets Previous mentoring or training of junior estimators. Design build experience.
