Job Description Job Description A Lead HVAC Installer oversees
and performs the installation, retrofitting, and maintenance of
residential or commercial heating, ventilation, and air
conditioning systems. They lead installation teams, ensuring code
compliance, safety adherence, high-quality workmanship, and proper
system start-ups. This role requires 3-5 years of experience,
technical expertise, and strong customer service skills. Key
Responsibilities Installation & Technical Work: Install HVAC units,
ductwork, piping, refrigerant lines, wiring, and accessories
according to manufacturer specifications and local codes. Team
Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior installers/apprentices,
assign tasks, and ensure efficient, timely completion of projects.
Quality Assurance & Safety: Perform system start-ups,
troubleshooting, and testing to verify proper operation. Maintain
strict safety standards and clean work areas. Customer Service:
Communicate effectively with clients to explain installations,
answer questions, and ensure satisfaction. Logistics &
Documentation: Manage inventory, materials, and equipment needed
for jobs. Complete necessary paperwork, including installation
records. Required Qualifications & Skills Experience: Generally 3-5
years of experience in HVAC installation. Certification: EPA
Certification for refrigerant handling is usually required.
Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of HVAC systems, wiring, and
building codes. Tools: Proficiency in using hand/power tools.
Licensure: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50-75 pounds. Comfort
working in tight spaces, on ladders, and in varying temperature
extremes.
