Job Description:

Job Title: Mechanical EngineerLocation: Temple, TXReports To: VP of Product Development Furniture Experience/Knowledge Required Primary duties will include: Communicate directly with sales team to design custom products to customer specification Lead company's efforts to create accurate and detailed technical specification sheets for all products and product assembly instructions Work on sustainability initiatives to achieve corporate goals Product design assignments will utilize measuring tools, problem solving skills and Solidworks to produce models and mechanical drawings for internally manufactured or purchased products Interface with suppliers to obtain quotes, make design changes and execute company initiatives Assemble and/or test fit assemblies Help with troubleshooting or modifying new and existing products Set the highest ethical standards for self and others Other duties as assigned Requirements: Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience working with furniture in an engineering capacity, producing models and mechanical drawings, and/or developing products Exemplary planning and time management skills Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload Good problem solving and visualization skills Basic training in Solidworks is preferred Prior design experience Hands-on experience in mechanical assembly and troubleshooting Preferred education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required. We will consider additional experience in lieu of diploma. The essential physical & environmental requirements of the position are: Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environment, heat and cold. Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Ability to stand prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. without assistance. Ability to hear sounds and differentiate between them.
