Job Summary: We are seeking a Junior Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to support the efficient and safe operation of our facility's electrical and instrumentation functions. In this role, you will be responsible for various maintenance tasks, troubleshooting electrical systems, and providing programming support for our PLC-based plant control infrastructure. You will work closely with the Maintenance Department Supervisor to handle assigned instrumentation and electrical-related tasks.Responsibilities:Perform general electrical and instrumentation activities such as installation, testing, and troubleshooting.Install conduits, wires, cables, and other related equipment.Conduct inspections of instruments and electrical equipment, including visual checks, temperature assessments, and leak detection.Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair pneumatic actuated valves.Perform calibrations for flow meters, pressure transmitters, level transmitters, and load cells.Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies for electrical equipment and instrumentation.Provide basic programming and troubleshooting support for Allen Bradley PLC and operator interface software.Assist with networking troubleshooting for fiber and Ethernet.Maintain cleanliness in work areas, utility support areas, and the workshop.Carry out routine preventative maintenance tasks for electrical equipment and instrumentation.Ensure timely completion of reports, work orders, and paperwork.Adhere to work instructions, safety policies and procedures, and code of conduct.Inspect vehicles, lifts, cranes, and forklifts at the end of each shift.Participate in site safety training, activities, and drills.Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized site.Prioritize attention to detail in daily operations.Maintain confidentiality of company information.Be available for overtime and flexible scheduling, including day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.Regular attendance is crucial for this position.Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities.Required Qualifications:High school diploma or GED. A two-year technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical or Industrial Electronics Engineering Technology, or Computer Programming is preferred.Valid driver's license with a good driving record for the past 5 years.Skills/Experience:At least 3 years of experience as an electrical maintenance technician and/or electrical instrumentation technician in a high-speed manufacturing environment.Proficiency in control, electrical, or electronics work, including computer programming, systems analysis and design, troubleshooting, and problem resolution in a high-speed manufacturing environment.Familiarity with industry-standard equipment and technical expertise.Ability to read and follow instructions in English.Proficient in reading and understanding electrical circuit diagrams and related technical literature.Knowledge of manufacturing processes and operating and maintaining automated equipment.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues effectively.Self-directed and patient, willing to collaborate with production personnel and technicians at all levels.Excellent decision-making and self-motivation skills.Computer literacy.Physical Demands:This position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 pounds.Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, sitting, crouching, crawling, and climbing.Must have good visual acuity, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.Work Environment:The work environment is a chemical manufacturing facility with some outdoor activities and exposure to the elements.Safety precautions must be followed when working around moving mechanical parts and operating machines and equipment.Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as ear protection, respiratory protection, safety glasses, hard hats, steel-toed shoes or boots, gloves, and chemical protective suits must be worn in designated areas.
