Location: Austin,TX 78727 Pay: $19-24/hr (depending on experience)
Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Debug Technician to join
our team. This role will be responsible for inspecting, debugging,
and repairing printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) that fail
functional or in-circuit testing. The ideal candidate will have
strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to interpret schematics
and technical documentation, and hands-on experience with PCBA
rework and repair processes. The Debug Technician will play a
critical role in ensuring product quality and reliability by
identifying root causes of failures and restoring assemblies to
meet performance specifications. Key Responsibilities Inspect and
analyze PCBAs that have failed test to identify defects or root
causes of failure. Use schematics, technical documentation, and
test procedures to troubleshoot assemblies down to component level.
Perform rework and repair of PCBAs, including soldering/replacing
components and correcting assembly issues, ensuring units are
returned to full functionality. Document findings, corrective
actions, and repair steps in accordance with company quality
standards. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production
teams to communicate recurring issues and recommend process
improvements. Maintain workbench tools, equipment, and ESD-safe
practices. Support continuous improvement initiatives for test,
debug, and repair processes. Required Qualifications High school
diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree
in electronics or related field preferred. Proven experience in PCB
debug, repair, and rework. Ability to read and interpret
schematics, assembly drawings, and technical documentation.
Proficiency with standard test equipment (multimeters,
oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.). Skilled in soldering and
reworking fine-pitch components, including surface mount and
through-hole devices. Strong problem-solving and root cause
analysis skills. Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications IPC-7711/7721 Rework & Repair
Certification. Experience in high-mix, low-volume electronics
manufacturing environments. Familiarity with automated test systems
and failure analysis tools. Knowledge of ESD and safety
standards.
