Network Engineer II
The Network Engineer II designs and plans the implementation, optimization, and operation of LAN, Wireless LAN, and WAN systems at remote and core locations. The Network Engineer II partners with management to determine LAN, Wireless LAN, WAN, and Telecom business needs and provides technical expertise for the successful design and implementation of effective enterprise-wide network strategies. The Network Engineer II will also have the following responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Designs complex network configurations to maximize the sharing of applications, information and resources across the company.
Coordinates with vendors/departments to procure hardware, software and services and obtain their assistance to achieve timely completion of projects.
Manages the LAN, Wireless LAN and WAN Telecommunications network to ensure effective use of the installed technology.
Investigates and resolves problems, inefficiencies and enhances network performance.
Provides strategic planning and technical support to determine LAN, Wireless LAN, WAN and Telecom business needs throughout the company.
Evaluates, tests, recommends, and implements specific network solutions.
Creates and maintains network documentation and performance growth and planning needs.
Plans, manages and provides leadership on project teams, including the identification of the project scope and objectives and managing the process for timely project completion.
Researches new technologies to improve efficiencies with technology, conducting business case studies to justify the need for technology while providing ongoing information to management, peers and customers regarding enhancements and innovations.
Designs, engineers, and manages complex system related communication and routing protocols.
May direct the activities of other technical staff, proving training as needed.
The ideal Network Engineer II will have a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 4 years of applicable, relevant experience in network engineering. The ideal Network Engineer II will be highly analytical and possess strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting/problem-solving skills. The ideal Network Engineer II will have exceptional communication skills combined with the ability to effectively interact and communicate with a diverse group of professionals. The ideal Network Engineer II will also have the following skills and experience:
Advanced skills in MS Office
Intermediate to Advanced skills in Routing and Switching, Dial Plan Design and IP Peer Networking
Intermediate skills in Firewalls and Load Balancing
Intermediate to advanced skills in TCP/IP
CCNA and PMP Certification preferred

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
Minimum of 4 years of Network Engineering experience required
PMP Certification preferred
