The Assistant General Manager is responsible for managing all staff
and operations in the Coffee Shop.
The AGM will empower their team to create an amazing and memorable
guest experience. This person
will ensure that the team exceeds the expectations by maintaining
superior quality standards
concerning food and drink production, guest service, preparation,
sanitation, training, safety, and
expediency of lines.
The AGM must have outstanding communication skills, the ability to
resolve conflict, and a thorough
understanding of company policies, brand standards, and financial
expectations. An AGM must develop
and support the company's culture, values and reputation both
internally with their team, as well as
externally with all guests, vendors, and partners.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have two (2) years related, progressive experience in food &
beverage industry and
experience in directing the work of others
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), college
degree preferred
Valid and current TABC Certification
Current Food Handler's Certification
Experience with or knowledge of inventory controls (i.e. food,
beverage, kitchen
supplies/utensils, food and beverage waste, and employee
consumption)
Ability to work within a budget and to manage costs in real
time
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups
Ability to apply concepts of math including addition, subtraction,
multiplication, division and
algebra, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to understand other computer programs (i.e. Point of
Sale)

Job Responsibilities:
Support the team in successful day-to-day operations
Ensure the restaurant runs effectively and efficiently within the
Company's operational and
financial guidelines
Clear communication of initiatives (change/focus) to the team
Train and supervise team members in daily operations, service,
sanitation, and safety
procedures
Maintain working knowledge of all recipes, products and production
procedures
Ensure all menu items are produced in accordance to the appropriate
standards/procedures
Assign duties and responsibilities to team members in accordance
with work requirements
Demonstrate a working understanding of labor cost control through
proactive floor management
Assist General Manager in establishing cost control objectives and
implementing action plans
Implement inventory standards and procedures to consistently
conduct an accurate inventory
Perform personnel actions such as interviews, corrective action and
consulting with other
managers as necessary
Hold staff accountable for their job performance through regular
performance evaluations
Ensure open lines of communication with staff and upper management
to ensure all needs of
the restaurant are met
Resolve guest issues/feedback in a timely manner
Monitor compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food
preparation, serving, and
building maintenance
Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues
Ensure that all equipment is maintained in good, safe working
condition
Keep abreast of safety and emergency procedures and OSHA
requirements
Attend relevant meetings
Based upon fluctuating demands of the coffee shop, and to exceed
guest expectations, you may be
expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as
directed. Furthermore, employee
responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and
revision.
Working Conditions:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
The person in this position may have to lift up to twenty-five (25)
pounds on a daily basis;
anything over fifty (50) pounds is considered a minimum two (2)
person lift
The person having this position may have to sit for one (1) hour,
stand and/or walk, push, kneel,
bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for eight (8) hours per
day
