JOB SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Establish current and long-range direction of technology aimed at keeping the organization on the forefront of change. This may include the analysis of purchased systems, hardware and software, or the internal design and development of hardware and software systems. Dispense technical advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures. Coordinate the design, development, marketing, and maintenance of technology projects or product lines. Analyze new technologies and run competitive analyses. Promote the interfacing and control of the company's present technology and dissemination of technological information throughout the organization.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Other duties may be assigned. A teammate in this position must have the ability to: Forecast and plan information technology staffing, expense, and administrative needs. Allocate resources to meet a wide range of complex objectives. Develop the information technology infrastructure organizational structure. Select, hire, reward, develop and terminate teammates in information technology. Be responsible for systems software solutions on all hardware and software platforms, ensure that all best practices are followed, including proper back up, provisioning and archiving. Provide input to policy level direction regarding standards and budget constraints. Be responsible for strategic directions regarding technology and interfaces between platforms, and outside parties, such as customers. Be responsible for all activities relating to technical guidance for planning, directing, and monitoring information systems operations. Be responsible for activities relating to the operation of centralized Temple based computer equipment and peripheral information systems equipment, including servers, PCs, routers and other devices. Ensure proper procedures and followed for protection of assets. Be responsible for all activities relating to the audit of information technology procedures and systems. Provide reporting of security guidelines, policies, security effectiveness, and security concerns. Be responsible for the overall disaster recovery readiness of information systems and technology related solutions, including electronic data, data systems, and data and voice networks. Direct responsibility to ensure successful planning and execution of disaster recovery plan. Including communication of overall plan and results. Guide the design and administration of the policies, standards, guidelines, training, and quality assurance of disaster recovery solutions. Provide strategic and tactical direction for all activities related to the administration of database systems on mainframe, mini, micro, and thin client platforms. Provide guidance and direction for help desk staff and all activities relating to the identification, prioritization, and resolution of reported problems. Ensure that all phases of the help desk support are coordinated, monitored, logged, tracked, and resolved appropriately. Provide guidelines for the establishment of personal computing and mobile device policies, procedures, and standards, and ensures their conformance with information technology goals and procedures while meeting business needs. Provide strategic and tactical direction for all telecommunications activities, including the design of voice, data, video, and image telecommunications systems corporate-wide. Provide guidance on interfaces with other information systems management staff to coordinate telecommunications software, hardware, and systems capabilities from wide area networks to local area networks to personal area networks. Provide long and soft-range recommendations to the business units on telecommunication solutions. Be responsible for information technology support of change management, configuration management, performance analysis, physical planning, national hardware and software vendor relationships, inventory control, technical standards, procedures and product evaluations. Provide guidance and direction for the completion of assigned complex or long-term projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines. Provide guidelines, direction, and review of complex analytical, administrative, and supervisory responsibilities for hardware, software, and service contract activities. Participate in overall information systems business planning bringing a current knowledge and future vision of technology and systems as related to the company's competitive position. Determine long-term corporate-wide information technology requirements, hardware and operating system acquisition and integration including mainframe mini, micro, and thin client computing platforms. Ensure integrity of corporate data, proprietary information, and related intellectual property through information security and access management. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: A teammate in this position must have: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience. 15 years of experience leading infrastructure, security, database and operating system and hardware teams. Strong presentation and communications skills. Excellent professional leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
