We don't just treat symptoms; we create a treatment plan that gets you back to doing everything you love free of pain.Job purposeThe Patient Care Specialist is the "face" of the company for all visitors. This position ensures all clerical duties are properly followed in accordance to clinical policies and procedures.Ensuring patient confidentiality is upheld to clinic and HIPAA standards. While always fostering an environment which promotes patient comfort and trust.Starting rate of $15.00Duties and responsibilitiesWelcomes and greets patients/clients/visitors in a manner that is helpful andProperly checking in all patients following the clinic procedures and HIPAA requirements.Verifies insurance and informs patients of any existing balances noted in the EMR systems a week prior to the patients scheduledObtains payment for in office visits and properly documents all financial transactions to adhere to clinicSets up via approved patient payment arrangements; tracks and monitors all patient payment arrangement to ensurePerforms day-to-day administrative functions and general office duties including but not limited to copying, filing, faxing, and dataAdheres to all clinic policies on safety and security; keeps computer system passwords strictlyAdheres to privacy protocols in accordance to clinic policies and procedures and HIPAA requirements.Exercises problem-solving and conflict resolution skills when handling patient complaints; refers patient complaints to appropriate designated personnel asMaintains patient waiting areas, office files, and front-desk areas in a manner that is organized andReceives all incoming mail and packages and distributes to the appropriateAttends scheduled department staff and clinicalPerforms additional duties as neededYou will love it here if you:Understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality; able to maintain confidentiality under HIPAA and clinicMust have the ability to exercise a high degree of diplomacy; excellent customer service and interpersonal communicationBasic mathIntermediate computer knowledge andIntermediate to advance phone skills; able to effectively relate via the telephone and in- person to better serve the needs of the clinic, patients, clients, andPrior administrative or clerical experience in a clinical or community basedHigh School Diploma; additional qualifications will be a plusMust have insurance knowledgeWorking conditionsOperates computers, scanners, telephones, and additional office equipment.Work a full 8-hour shift in an office medical setting.Must wear appropriate dress code attire in accordance to company policy and procedures.Able to sit and stand for long periods of time.Minimal lifting required with maximum of 50 lbs.Benefits401(k)Dental insuranceDisability insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceBi-lingual is preferred.
