We have an exciting opportunity to join our health information management team as a Medical Lab Scientist / Medical Lab Tech at Seton Medical Center Harker Heights in Harker Heights, TX.

  • Performs tests following established department policies and procedures exercising independent judgment when necessary

  • Performs and documents defined quality control procedures required for tests assayed
  • Maintains education (independent study) as outlined in 2005 ASCP requirements (36 hours CE during a 3 year period)
  • Serves as a resource for MT I, MLTs and Clinical Lab Assistants
  • Follows established procedures for the environment of care and laboratory safety
  • Accepts responsibility for learning and maintaining knowledge of laboratory practices and procedures
  • Maintains current on department based competencies, including all regulatory requirements
  • Remains current on procedures for the environment of care and laboratory safety

    Qualifications
    
    Education/Skills/Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in related field is required Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
      • Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (General) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Certification (BOC) or Medical Technologist by the American Medical Technologists MT (AMT) is required
