Job Description Baylor Scott & White Round Rock Emergency Department /n Mid-Shift 1pm to 1am /n This is a fast-paced 25 Bed ER environment with a focus on teamwork. /n RNs work closely with ED Providers, Social Workers, Registration, etc. because we are truly in it together! /n The Emergency department primarily cares for adult populations, but we do care for pediatric patients as needed. /n Registered Nurses (RN) can be involved in Improvement projects, Shared Governance, department committees and councils. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies. /n Essential Functions of the Role /n /n - As an RN, conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes. /n - Building relationships, managing discomfort, staying professional are vital in therapeutic connections with patients and families. /n - Creating care plans reflecting values aids in resolving issues. /n - You will help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members. Empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly. /n - Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly. /n - You'll use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery. /n - Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth. Contribute to peers' development, show community service commitment. /n /n Key Success Factors /n /n - A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures. /n - Know nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area. Qualifications /n /n - Grad of an Accredited RN Program /n - Specialized field of study should be nursing. /n - RN license. /n - Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role. /n - Minimum 1.5 years of RN ED experience Required /n
