Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 9 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel RN Cath Lab San Marcos, TX 13 weeks SHIFT: DAYS 7A-7P Job Requirements: Education/Skills /t 1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred Experience /t 1. 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications /t 1. BLS required (AHA only) /t 2. ACLS preferred (AHA only) /t 3. RN License in TX, or compact Summary: The competent Nurse, in the same or similar clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to on long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation. Responsibilities: /t 1. Using the appropriate protocol, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed. /t 5. Inspects, troubleshoots and evaluates incoming equipment Medical Order Processing /t 1. Shares experiences with processing medical orders for one or more groups of patients or conditions /t 2. Describes functions and features of the system used to enter, validate, update and forward medical orders /t 3. Discusses common errors, their sources and procedures for correcting /t 4. Explains considerations for entering and following standing orders /t 5. Differentiates between standing orders and preprinted orders and considerations for each Patient Chart Reading and Interpretation /t 1. Describes experiences in reading and interpreting patient charts for patients on unit and under own care /t 2. Reviews patients' charts for completion and accuracy; identifies and alerts to mistakes or omissions /t 3. Recognizes unexpected readings and alerts nursing or medical staff /t 4. Relates examples of mis-readings or misinterpretations and lessons learned /t 5. Reviews, discusses and validates own interpretation with others Patient Safety /t 1.
