Job Description:

A Cath Lab Technologist is a specialized healthcare professional working in a catheterization laboratory, where they assist cardiologists in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases. This role involves operating complex medical imaging equipment to visualize the heart and vascular system, helping in the preparation and recovery of patients for catheterization procedures, and ensuring a sterile environment in the lab. Assist physicians during invasive cardiovascular procedures such as angioplasty, cardiac catheterization, and electrophysiology. Prepare patients for procedures, including explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring comfort and safety throughout. Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring clear images are captured and properly documented. Monitor patient vital signs and cardiac data during procedures using clinical equipment. Administer medications or injections as directed by physicians during the procedure. Maintain a sterile environment to prevent infections and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations. Manage and document patient records to ensure accuracy and confidentiality. Assist in the post-procedural care of patients and in the preparation of the cath lab for subsequent cases. Proficiency in operating cath lab equipment, including fluoroscopy machines and patient monitoring devices. Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in emergency situations. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and medical staff. Capability to adhere to safety and sanitation protocols.
