Job Description Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital, Temple, TX Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin. Great opportunity for Registered Nurse looking to join a high-level professional team in a Level One Emergency Department. MID SHIFT 3p-3a Unit Summary Busy ER in level One Trauma Hospital -Certified Chest Pain and Stroke Center. Average 220 visits per day. Our Registered Nurse (RN) staff are proficient in Stroke and STEMI activations and established care guidelines This is a fast-paced ER environment whose success is dependent on teamwork. We have 50 exam rooms and 6 trauma bays RNs work closely with ED Providers, Social Workers, Registration, etc. because we are truly in it together! The Emergency department primarily cares for adult populations, but we do care for pediatric patients as needed. Registered Nurses (RN) can be involved in Improvement projects, Shared Governance, department committees and councils. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies. Essential Functions of the Role - As an RN, conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes. - Building relationships, managing discomfort, staying professional are vital in therapeutic connections with patients and families. - Creating care plans reflecting values aids in resolving issues. - You will help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members. Empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly. - Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly. - You'll use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff.
