Job Description:
PediaStaff is seeking a dedicated and compassionate
Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our dynamic
team of professionals in a school-based setting. This position
offers the opportunity to work in a supportive educational
environment tailored towards enriching the lives of children with
speech and language needs. As an ideal candidate, you will
collaborate with experienced Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to
implement therapeutic interventions that foster student
communication success in academic and social settings. Your role is
vital in helping students achieve their personal and educational
goals. Assist Speech-Language Pathologists in the assessment and
treatment of speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
Implement speech therapy plans designed by the supervising SLP to
improve students' communication skills. Document students' progress
and provide feedback to speech-language pathologists and
educational staff. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to
discuss student care and intervention strategies. Prepare and
maintain equipment and materials for therapy sessions. Adhere to
all professional and ethical standards, including confidentiality
and privacy laws related to student health information. Strong
interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with
students, parents, and educational professionals. Ability to follow
written and verbal instructions from supervising SLPs. Basic
knowledge of speech-language disorders and treatment modalities.
Competence in using therapy equipment and implementing therapeutic
interventions as directed. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance
Vision Insurance 401k Current state licensing as an SLPA where
required, Certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing
Association (ASHA) is preferred but not mandatory.
