Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Physical Therapy Assistant - Discipline: Therapy - Start Date: 01/19/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 10 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel MedAdventures is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Gatesville, TX. This position is based within a correctional facility, where you’ll work alongside a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality rehabilitative care to patients. Key Responsibilities: - Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing treatment plans for patients. - Provide therapeutic exercises and modalities including active, passive, and resistive treatments. - Document patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising PT. - Support patient safety and comfort while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. - Participate in team meetings, care planning, and quality improvement initiatives. - Ensure compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and ethical standards. Work Environment: - Setting: Correctional facility – security clearance required. - May encounter exposure to communicable diseases or other occupational hazards. - Must be alert, attentive, and able to manage challenging or complex situations. - Some lifting and moderate physical activity are part of the role. Qualifications: - Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. - Active Texas PTA license (or eligibility). - At least 1 year of recent clinical experience preferred. - Must pass background check, security clearance, and pre-employment drug screen.
