POSITION PURPOSE This position will be responsible for maintaining,
troubleshooting, and optimizing our IT infrastructure, as well as
providing technical assistance to end users. RESPONSIBILITIES -
Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems,
including servers, workstations, printers, and network devices. -
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as system updates, patches,
and backups, to ensure the stability and security of our IT
environment. - Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and
network issues, either independently or by collaborating with the
appropriate teams or vendors. - Provide technical support and
guidance to end users, both in person and remotely, ensuring timely
resolution of their IT-related inquiries and problems. - Manage
user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various
systems and applications. - Assist in the evaluation, selection,
and implementation of new technologies and software solutions to
improve efficiency and productivity. - Develop and maintain
documentation, including user manuals, standard operating
procedures, and knowledge base articles. - Conduct training
sessions to educate users on IT best practices and promote proper
use of technology resources. - Stay up to date with emerging
technologies and industry trends, and make recommendations for
their integration into our IT infrastructure. - Ability to diagnose
and resolve hardware and software issues and provide technical
support to end users. - Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA
safety rules and regulations. - Housekeeping as necessary to
maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly
manner. SCOPE OF AUTHORITY - This position has no supervisory
responsibilities - Works independently with little supervision -

EDUCATION AND TECHNOLOGY - Bachelor’s degree in Information
Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent
work experience) - Proven experience as an IT Generalist or similar
role, with a broad understanding of IT systems, hardware, software,
and networks - Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating
systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite and other common
software applications - Familiarity with networking concepts and
protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN - Experience with
Active Directory, Group Policy, and user management in a Windows
environment - Certifications such as CompTIA A, Network, or
Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) preferred -
Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware or
Hyper-V preferred - Familiarity with cloud computing platforms,
such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS) preferred -
Knowledge of IT security best practices and experience implementing
security measures preferred WORK ENVIRONMENT / SCHEDULE - Typical
schedule is Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM - Some projects and support
may require after-hours and/or weekend work - Typically works
inside an office environment - Some work in the plant may be
required PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT (PPE) - Steel-toed shoes -
Safety Glasses - High-visibility Vest - Ear Plugs - Hard Hat PPE is
required when working in the plant. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This is
an office position which requires sitting, standing, and walking.
