As a Collections Paralegal, you will take the lead in responding to Bankruptcy filings and be responsible for filing Re-Affirmation Agreements, Proof of Claims, posting Trustee Payments and Representing in the Credit Union in Court. Must be able to manage a heavy workload and have strong office and computer skills, as well as possess knowledge of the principles and procedures of legal research . The right candidate is expected to be self-sufficient, able to work in collaborative, project driven environment, and have an investigative mindset to draw conclusions, all while maintaining a positive attitude. Experience with MS Office Suite is required.
As a Collections Paralegal, your responsibilities will include:

• 
  Judgment Demand Letters
• Deficiency Balances Letters
• Small Claims Court Representation
• Facilitating the repayment of Charge-Offs due to Fraud
• Preparing and reports
• Investigative work regarding cases and conducting research
• Drafting legal documents, maintaining files, attorney scheduling, billing, legal statements, and case management
• Collecting necessary documents to represent the Credit Union in Small Claims Court
• Organizing the documents related to completed and ongoing cases, tracking any hours for billing
• Keeping track of changes in the legal framework and providing timely updates on these changes
• Strong Communication Skills written and oral
• Negotiate under pressure
• Juggle multiple duties without feeling overwhelmed
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

    Salary: $42,000 -$44,000What we need you to have:
    • Education: Bachelors degree in related field (such as Paralegal Studies, Criminal Justice, Finance) or 1-3 years experience in the paralegal and/or collections field with a paralegal license or certificate from an accredited institution.
    • Must have a valid Texas drivers license.
    • Knowledge of related laws and regulations.
    • Skilled in MS Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
    • Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job.
    • Strong analytical skills required with a high degree of accuracy and ability to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
    • Previous collections experience preferred.
