Position Summary & Essential DutiesThe following duties,
responsibilities, physical requirements, and Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities (KSA's) are intended to describe the general nature and

SUMMARY:This position involves conducting individual and group
tutoring to students in various Science, Technology, Engineering,
and Math (STEM) degree fields and assisting students in improving
academic achievement by:
- Identifying deficiencies and helping them overcome them.
- Assisting students with instructor-assigned homework problems
to reinforce understanding.
- Guiding students in formulating ideas for becoming a stronger,
more independent STEM learner.
- Participating in staff and professional development activities.
Tutors will be selected for specific STEM fields and not expected
to provide services across multiple disciplines. Targeted STEM
fields include: MathematicsSciencesHealth ProfessionsComputer
SciencesEngineeringQualifications (Required and Preferred)MINIMUM
EDUCATIONAL AND WORK REQUIREMENTS (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS):High
School Diploma or High School equivalency and completed College
Algebra and/or Statistics with a grade of B or
higher.PREFERRED:Associate's Degree with six (6) months directly
related teaching/tutoring experience. Ability to read, write, and
speak Spanish.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesDUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:The incumbent will:
- Provide educational supplementation in various STEM fields
including assistance with online learning platforms.
- Support students to develop and meet academic goals.
- Provide tutoring that leads to educational improvements.
- Evaluate students to measure skill progression and determine
improvement areas.
- Attend all directed meetings, seminars, workshops, staff
development trainings, etc.; overnight travel occasionally
required.
- Report to work regularly and on time.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.SOCIAL
CONSTRUCTS REQUIRED OF POSITION:

REQUIRED:KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications.
- Knowledge of the application of various STEM principles.SKILLS:

- Excellent oral, written, analytical and technical skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.ABILITIES:
- Ability to determine priorities, be self-directed and work with
minimal supervision.PHYSICAL EFFORT:May be required to sit or stand
for long periods of time. May sit at a computer terminal for
extended periods of time. Must be able to facilitate data entry and
keyboard manipulation.WORKING CONDITIONS:Work is normally performed
in an office/computer lab setting which may be located at any of
the Temple College locations (TBI, Main Campus, Taylor, or Hutto)
and virtually.
Not a Benefits Eligible Position.
PAYROLL: Employees are paid by direct deposit through the last
working day of the month. Actual deposits are paid on the last
working business day of the month. All benefit deductions are taken
at that time.
