Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY The Supervisor, Emergency Medical Services provides
direct management of the EMS personnel for the assigned shift to
include operational and clinical oversight of the assigned units
and personnel; leadership and supervision of the assigned staff and
evaluation of assigned units and personnel. This position will also
be responsible for providing patient care. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF
THE ROLE Manages the daily activities of the EMS staff for an
assigned shift. Coordinates staffing, coverage and procedures to
ensure needs of the facility are met in a timely and effective
manner. Assesses and coordinates special event and standby requests
for ground ambulance operations. Manages system resources,
effectively monitoring system status and capabilities relative to
active pending calls for service to ensure optimal response to
calls for service. Responds to calls for service to provide
emergency medical care when needed and responds to non-emergency
calls to provide patient assessment and treatment. Triages calls
based on system status and other appropriate factors. Selects most
appropriate treatment and intervention plans based upon patient
needs and circumstances. Adapts assessment, treatment and transport
plans and interventions based upon unique circumstances of patient
and environment, demonstrating ability to effectively implement
treatment plan. Participates in Human Resources related activities
to include interviewing, selecting, education, training,
supervising, evaluating, counseling and recommending termination of
assigned employees. Partners with human resources to identify staff
members in need of documentation of compliance. Collaborates to
assure compliance with federal, state and local authorities
relating to specific requirements related to EMS services. Serves
as incident commander or medical sector commander. Institutes
command structure correctly and in appropriate circumstances,
utilizing command procedures properly and effectively. KEY SUCCESS
FACTORS One or more years paramedic experience required.
Supervising or management of EMS operations preferred. Must be
available 24 hours a day 7 days a week unless out on leave or
vacation at that time. Good verbal and written communication;
conflict resolution; organizational skills required. BENEFITS Our

of work experience above the minimum qualification EXPERIENCE - 1
Year of Experience CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Basic Life
Support (BLS)ACLS (ACLS): ACLS required within 30 days of hire.Pedi
Adv Life Support (PALS): PALS required within 30 days of
hire.Drivers License (TXDL): If moving from out of state must
obtain valid TX DL within 90 days of hire.Emergency Med
Tech-Advanced (EMT-A), Emerg Med Tech - Paramedic (EMT-P), Licensed
Paramedic (LICPARA): Must be an EMT-A, EMT-P or Licensed Paramedic
in the state of TX.
