Registered Nurse - Method Analyst - Temple, Texas

As the Registered Nurse - Methods Analyst (NMA), you will support the development of facility wide methodologies, protocol, models, and overarching policies designed to track and evaluate total patient care delivery services, to include but not limited to, quality elements internal to patient service requested, required or delivered and efficiencies involving of availability of providing required care in the medical center. The NMA is a skilled member in collaboration with all levels of clinical and administrative staff and reviews local procedures and policies and recommend changes as appropriate.
You will be responsible to develop and analyze the data needs and produce an effective database system to meet the needs of Patient Care Services. The Nurse Methods Analyst creates, integrates, disseminates, and manages data for all Nursing applications, processes and entities requiring timely and accurate data delivery. The NMA will serve as a gatekeeper for all Patient Care Service's data so stakeholders can understand data and use it to make strategic clinical decisions. You will develop and present reports on audits, outcomes and compliance using a variety of methods and tools such as PowerBI. The NMA will study trends related to efficiency of ancillary services, overhead costs, and other operational aspects of patient care delivery. Duties of the position include but are limited to;

  • Developing performance indicators and metrics to measure and report to the leadership team members, for optimum resourcing to provide patient delivery services and programs.
  • Supporting the development of models which closely track key performance indicators relative to the service being analyzed.
  • Determines data and information requirements and establishes performance thresholds relative to specific areas under review.
  • Supporting development of plans of action for the efficient resource allocation from a medical standpoint.
  • Tracking, evaluating, and reporting performance as measured by the applicable metrics for that specific function of patient care delivery.
  • Actively participating in data management processes including the development of data collection tools, data collection, aggregation and report writing,
  • Utilizing clinical judgment and knowledge of patient assessment and patient care processes to identify potential issues related to standards of patient care
  • Analyzes, interpret and trends findings of data collection using a variety of graphical tools to make recommendations.
  • Researches, gathers, collate, and analyze health information and other data from VA and local systems for presentation.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Minimum 1 year of experience using Accustaf or other staffing methodology software
    • High level of experience with Microsoft Office Suite software preparing and delivering statistical reports, documents, memorandums, and presentations to all levels of an organization.
    • Advanced skills using PowerBI
    • Minimum 1 year of project management experience
    • Minimum 1 year of experience using data sources, data retrieval, and data distribution.
    • Lean Six Sigma Certification

      Such experience must be clearly identifiable in the supporting application documents.
